Post independence in 1947, India has been divided into various states and union territories. There are as many as 28 States in India and another 7 Union Territories.
From north to south or from east to west, history, culture, language, climate, dress, cuisine, fairs and festival and even physical features seem to vary in each state. Despite all these diversities, a note of harmony still runs through the states in India, which bind them all into one nation.
