Lakshadweep


Lakshadweep travel enables the tourists to explore the magnificence and splendor of this grand island nestled amidst the Arabian Sea. The archipelago is located at a distance of 200 to 300 km. from the coastline of the South Indian state of Kerala. Lakshadweep consists of 27 small islets, which are scattered over an area of about a hundred kms.


With its turquoise blue waters, virgin beaches, and a wide range of water sports and marine attractions, Lakshadweep is one of the most popular tourist destinations of India.

Of all the islands that constitute Lakshadweep, Only three have human inhabitation. The islands which are inhabited are Amini, Minicoy and Kavaratti. The islands of Lakshadweep are known for their sun-kissed beaches and numerous lagoons. Tourists who visit these islands can indulge in a wide array of water sports activities in the blue waters. There are a number of conducted tours that carry the visitors from one island to another.

Each island of the archipelago has its own culture and share of attractions. Some islands provide great water sport facilities whereas others provide great opportunities to closely observe the colorful marine life that inhabit the waters of the Arabian Sea. Lakshadweep is the smallest Union Territory of India. The total land area covered by the archipelago of Lakshadweep is 32 sq. km. The best time to visit the islands is between the months of September to March.
