How to Reach Nagaland by Air: The state has its airport in Dimapur, which is regularly serviced by major airlines. The city is linked to the major Indian cities like Guwahati and Kolkata by air. Important places in the state are easily accessible from Dimapur.

Foreign nationals: The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, issues Restricted Area Permit for foreigners intending to visit Manipur. It can also be obtained from Indian Missions abroad, Foreign Regional Registration office (FRRO) in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Immigration office in Chennai and the Home Commissioner, Govt. of Nagaland, Kohima. The foreign nationals are allowed to visit the eight district headquarters and specified places for a period of ten days which is extendable for another ten days provided they are in a group of four or more or married couples.

Indian nationals: Inner Line Permit, required for the Indians to visit Manipur, is issued by the Liaison officers of the Govt. of Nagaland at New Delhi, Kolkata,Guwahati, Shillong, Kohima, Dimapur and Mokokchung.
