Perfectly located in the heart of India, Nagpur is the largest city in central India. This Maharastrian city encompasses within it a rich history. Nagpur, famous for the oranges that are available in plenty, is considered as the Orange capital of India. This city is also considered as the second capital of Maharastra.

Nagpur is the former capital city of the Bhosle rules in the central India. There are numerous tourist attractions in Nagpur that draw both the local and international tourists. The Ambazari Lake is one of the most visited places in Nagpur, it is located on the western outskirts of Nagpur. This beautiful lake covers an area of 15.4 sq. km; the lake is spectacularly surrounded by picturesque gardens and provides various fun filled activities to visitors of all ages. There is a musical fountain, its water dances with the different colored lights and in the rhythm of the music.

Another famous attraction of Nagpur is the Shri Balaji Madir located on the Seminary Hills. The idol of Lord Balaji is placed in the temple. The temple hosts several artistic, cultural and spiritual events throughout the year. Idols of Lord Karitikeya, the son of Lord Shiva, are also placed in this temple.

Maharaj Baug is an excellent botanical garden that houses a zoo where rare species of birds and animals can be seen. The other lush garden of Nagpur, Gandhi Baug, is named after the father of the nation of India, Mahatma Gandhi. Pench National Park, which is situated 65 km from Nagpur is considered the most famous tourist destination of Nagpur for wildlife enthusiasts.

Some other places of interest in Nagpur include the Hedgewar Smriti Temple, Sri Poddareshwar Ram Temple, The Dragon Palace Temple and the Sevagram. Shopping is an important part of this historical city of Maharastra. Shopping in Nagpur offers a variety of silk bordered dhotis, which are the most famous; you can also find some handicrafts shop and more.
