Punjab Travel
Punjab travel helps the tourists to unravel the cultural diversity of the state which is also known as the 'Land of Five Rivers'. It is at this site that the first war between the Aryans and the non-Aryans took place. The region saw the emergence of many kingdoms such as the Mauryan Empire, Mughal Empire and the British Raj. The Golden Temple is one of the principle tourist sites of the state. Located in Amritsar, it is one of the most important shrines of the Sikhs. Jallianwala Bagh Martyr's Memorial: This site bears the tragic imprints of the atrocities of Brig-En Dyer who was responsible for the massacre of several innocent people of of Punjab
  • Qila Mubarak Patiala: Being the home of the Patiala Kingdom, this one houses the Sheesh Palace, Palace of Moons, Bagh Ghar and Moti Palace, among others
  • Sarai Amanat Khan: This historic site is located within Amritsar and is popular for an elegant entrance decorated with glazed tiles reflecting the excellence of Mughal architecture

    Leisure Valley, Moti Bagh Palace, Yadavendra Gardens and Capitol Complex are the other popular tourists spots of Punjab.

    People coming to Punjab can plan their trip between October and March. During this period, Punjab experiences winter. The tourists are advised to carry woolen clothes as the temperature drops down to about 5ºC during nights. The average temperature during daytime in winter is about 12ºC.

    Punjab has a number of hotels that help the tourists to find accommodation within the state. Some of the important hotels of Punjab are Mohan International, Ritz Plaza, Chevron International, Radisson Windsor, Majestic Park Plaza and Hotel President.

    Grand Trunk Road and National Highways Nos. 15, 20, 1A, 19 and 21 connect Punjab with the rest of the country. Tourists can each Punjab by air too. The airports of Amritsar and Chandigarh connect the state with regular flights to the different cities of the world. The state is also connected by railways to the different parts of the country. Amritsar, Ludhiana, Pathankot, Jalandhar and Chandigarh are the major railway stations of Punjab.
