Sarnath
Located near Varanasi in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Sarnath in India is a major site of Buddhist pilgrimage. According to history, it is the place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon. Excavations by the Archaeological Survey of India at Sarnath have revealed many structures which represent facets of the Buddhist history.
