TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IN SURAT

The historical city of Surat is an important tourist destination in Gujarat. The city close to the western coast on the Arabian sea, started gaining importance since 14th century when it became an important port of the Mughal empire.

But Surat's biggest claim to fame is its association with Mahatma Gandhi who from here led a major struggle for Independence. Apart from that the land boasts of a few beautiful beaches also.
