Uttar Pradesh is better known as the land of culture and tradition. Located in the northern part of India, it is the birth place of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna. The most populous state in India is the home of several wealthy monuments, various wildlife reserves and more, these complements perfectly well the picturesque mountains and lakes. The several places of interests dotted throughout the state has helped the Uttar Pradesh tourism to flourish in an international arena.

Among the most visited places of Uttar Pradesh, the first in the queue is Agra, it houses one of the seven wonders of the world, Taj Mahal, which is one of the finest examples of Mughal architecture. As many as 2 to 4 million tourists come to visit Taj Mahal throughout the year. Apart from this grand monument, Agra is also the home of two more World Heritage Sites, Agra Fort and the Fatehpur Sikri.

Varanasi, one of the oldest pilgrim cities in the world is located in along the banks of rivers Ganaga, Assi and Varanasi. This holy city is visited by a large number of devotees throughout the year, the most famous temples of the city includes the Vishwanath Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple, Bharat Mata Temple and the Durga Temple. The other religious cities of Uttar Pradesh that can be visited are Kashi, dubbed as the second oldest city in the world, Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama and the birthplace of Lord Krishna, Mathura-Vrindavan.

There are various wildlife reserves as well as hill stations in Uttar Pradesh which attract tourists. There are quite a number of Tiger reserves in Uttar Pradesh, Dudhwa National Park and Lakhimpur Kheri are most famous two. Nainital and Mussourie are two important hill stations of Uttar Pradesh.
